The original Hipster PDA [1] is a small stack of 3"x5" index cards, a binder clip to keep them together, with a pen attached. I use an hPDA Poly Case (Mark 2) which removes the need for the binder clip---easier and far more flexible. hPDAs are small, sleek, simple, low-tech, cheap, flexible, and hackable, useful for GTD [2], to-do lists, and notes. It fits in my pocket so I take it with me everywhere: ubiquitous capture.
[1] | The "PDA" in "Hipster PDA" stands for "parietal disgorgement aid", not "personal digital assistant". The idea is to clear details and minutiae out your brain by writing it all down. |
[2] | "GTD" stands for Getting Things Done: a book, methodology, and seminars by David Allen, and a way of life for many. Some links: |
